chapter 12

The Worlds of The Fifteenth Century- During the 15th Century, there were a couple civilizations that have been emphasized by Strayer. Some of the civilizations were The Ming Dynasty in China, the Islamic World, and the Americas where the Aztec Empire and the Inca Empire were located. For China during the fifteenth century, the Ming Dynasty voyaged across the Indian Ocean which was the last eruption of power in Timur's Empire. As for Europe, they were competing against the states that were threatened by the expanding Muslim Ottoman Empire. The Muslim Empire stretched across much of Afro-Eurasia. It's crazy how a little empire can become so big that it gets remembered to this day. SO big that it ends up across the world where its ideas are being spread out very easily. Another very interesting fact I liked about this chapter was about Machu Picchu. I find it insane how people living ages ago could come up with something like that. Chapter 6 (Commonalities & Variations)

Chapter 6 is a unique chapter. It talks about commonalities and variations in the regions of Africa , the Americas , and pacific oceania. In this chapter, the narrator talks about continental comparisons civilizations africa like the meroe , axum, and the Niger River. It continues on talking about civilizations of mesoamerica like the Maya and Teotihuacan . Next thing up was the civilizations of the Andes like chavin and moche .   I didn't enjoy reading this chapter because I didn't find it as interesting as the previous chapters but I still thought it was somewhat okay to read . The chapter continues talking about  bantu africa, north america, and the peoples of the sea .

Chapter 11

Pastoral Peoples on the Global Stage-  From what I learned in this chapter is that the Mongols were a big empire . They even attacked Japan! The Mongols have a big history to their name . As I was reading their map of time in the book . I found it very fascinating how the Mongols ruled so many places . During the 11th, 12th, and the 13th century, was when the Mongols began to rule other places . From the life of Temujin to the high point of Black Death in Europe , Mongols ruled six different territories. They ruled China , Russia, attacked Eastern Europe, Baghdad, and attempted attacks on Japan . I didn't know the Mongols were this big in history. I am very interested in the Mongol Empire now . Especially after the death of Chinggis Khan. After his death is when the empire began to rise .
